JHNHS INDUCTS MEMBERS
The Homer-Center Junior High Chapter of National Honor Society inducted members during an assembly that included parents on April 26. National Honor Society Recognizes students who possess the traits of Scholarship, Leadership, Character and Service. Congratulations to the inductees.












HCHS BOYS BASKETBALL 2016 DISTRICT 6 CLASS A CHAMPIONS
The Wildcats claimed the District 6 crown with a win over Bishop Carroll on February 25 at the Altoona Field House











HCHS REPRESENTED AT DISTRICT CHORUS FESTIVAL
HCHS students participated in the District Chorus Festival February 4-6 at IUP. Congratulations to our District Chorus participants (L-R) Hayden Michael, Liz Ginter, Jacob Hurd, Zachary Vought, Anna Overman and Meghan Dressler.










HCHS REPRESENTED AT PMEA DISTRICT 3 BAND
Congratulations to Drew Hurd, Abby Novak, Joey Gorton and Nick George for representing HCHS at the PMEA District 3 Band Festival. An extra shout out to Abby Novak and Nick George who were selected to the PMEA Regional Band.










LAW CLASS TAKES FIELD TRIP 
Students in Ms. Bruno's Law class toured the following locations during a field trip on 1/8: PSP - Indiana Barracks, Indiana County Courthouse, Indiana Borough Police Department, Indiana County Jail and the Indiana County EMA Center. Thank you to the various organizations for explaining the functions of your organizations to our students.








MISSION CONTROL WE DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM
8th Grade students at HCHS recently participated in a mission at The Challenger Learning Center on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia. Students accepted various roles and built STEM related skills of problem solving, developing creative and innovated solutions through collaboration and communicating and executing these solutions in both oral and written form. In case you are wondering, we did save the Earth.












STUDENTS ATTEND WORLD AFFAIRS INSTITUTE
Seniors Rick Orr & Stephen Novak, along w/ Social Studies teacher, Christina Bruno, recently attended the 45
th Annual World Affairs Institute at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh.  This year’s Institute was titled Cuba & the US: The Start of a New Era.  Thank you to the Rotary Club of Indiana for sponsoring this opportunity for our students. Additionally pictured in the photo is Mr. Dan Fleming, Rotary Club President.









HCHS COLLECTS FOR BASKET OF LOVE FOOD DRIVE
Students at HCHS doubled their goal of 1200 items for the local food pantry and collected over 2400 items.  Proud of the students for their compassion for others and engagement in our community. 










SAM CUNKELMAN 2015 HERITAGE CONFERENCE XC CHAMPION
SAM CUNKELMAN 2015 DISTRICT VI CLASS A BOYS XC CHAMPION
Sam Cunkelman captured the 2015 Heritage Conference Championship October 22.  Congratulations Sam!
Sam Cunkelman also captured the 2015 PIAA D6 Class A Boys Championship October 31, Sam will participate at the PIAA Championship XC race November 7. Good Luck Sam!

HCHS MARCHING BAND PERFORMS AT IUP HOMECOMING PARADE
Rain, sleet nor snow can stop the Wildcat Marching Band from bringing a quality show. The band braved the elements Friday night while supporting the Wildcat football team during our homecoming game and again Saturday at the IUP Homecoming Parade. Good job marching band!

STAY IN IT TO WIN IT
IUP Men's basketball visited with HCHS 7th and 8th graders to discuss successful character traits and to promote a program Stay In It To Win It! Each player discussed a different character trait vital to personal and academic success.  Thank you IUP Hoops for sharing with our students.
