Mr. Anthony R. Buffone, HCHS Science Department

Mr. Buffone's hometown is Sagamore, Pennsylvania.  He attended Shannock Valley Elementary and High School until his senior year when the Armstrong School District consolidated Shannock Valley with Dayton to form Armstrong East High School.  Today, a new school has been built there and has been added as a member of the Heritage Conference: West Shamokin High School.  He has earned a BA in Biology (Cum Laude Honors), a BSEd in Science Education, and an MS in Forensic Science as well as Project Lead the Way Certification for Gateway Medical Detectives, and Pennsylvania Literacy Network course completion certification.  In 2014, he was awarded the Lauretta Woodson Outstanding Educator Award.
 
Mr. Buffone started his teaching career in 1998 at Conniston Community Middle School in the School District of Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach, Florida.  He later worked for the IUP Teacher Education Center for Science, Mathematics, and Technology in 2000-2002 and then as an Adult Education Instructor at ARIN Intermediate Unit in Indiana, Pennsylvania from 2002-2005. He has been part of the HCHS Wildcat Science Department since the 2005-06 school year and is proud to be part of the Wildcat Community!
 
Mr. Buffone enjoys all things science, competitive volleyball, movies, history, travel, reading, and technology.  He is an avid fan of his alma maters' sports teams: Go Florida Gators! #ChompChomp, #IUPproud
