Congratulations to the Girls Basketball team on a great season!

The Homer-Center girls basketball team had a magical run this year.  Although it didn't end the way they would have liked, they still had a fantastic season, and a very strong run the last two years.  They appeared in their second straight Heritage Conference Championship game this year (they won it last year) and lost to the eventual Class 3A Champion River Valley Panthers (who also qualified for the 3A State Championship game).  However, they would go on to win their next seven games.  In that span they brought home their second consecutive District VI Championship, and the programs first time qualifying for the PIAA state championship game.

In the Class 2A State Championship game they ran into a very good Kennedy Catholic team, which won the District X championship.  The girls fought hard throughout the first half, taking early leads in the first quarter, and trailed 26-20 at halftime.  A tough thrid quarter put them in a hole they couldn't recover from, but they never quit.  The Lady Wildcats continued to fight throughout the game, which ended with a 65-45 loss at the Giant Center in Hershey.

You can relive all of the action from the game by purchasing DVD and digital download copies of the Lady Wildcats historic appearance in the state finals through the PIAA website, PCN website, and the NFHS Network.

Congratulations on a fantastic season ladies!
