Maggie Voyda and Matt Olechoveski, both juniors, were two of only 10 students in the county to be accepted to IRMC's externship program. Both are committed to pursuing careers in the medical field; Matt as a PA & Maggie, a physician. Both are very excited about this opportunity & having the chance to network with professionals in the field.

"A Glimpse of a Professional Healthcare Career."
The IRMC High School Externship program is for juniors going into their senior year of high school or recent high school graduates. This program is specifically for students with intentions of pursuing a career as a physician. During the 2-week program, externs have the opportunity to shadow in the areas of robotic and general surgery, orthopedics, anesthesiology and operating room, family medicine, Emergency Department, pediatrics, and more. This program is highly competitive, with just ten high school students accepted to the program.
