Mandated Health Services

YEARLY STATE MANDATED HEALTH SERVICES

Because it is an established fact that children learn best when they are healthy, the Pennsylvania Department of Health mandates a series of health screenings/services to help assure that all students are functioning at a state of optimum health. The following are the health screenings/services that are mandated for students in Grades K through 12 for the upcoming School Year.

 Vision Screening

All students in Grades K through 12

  Growth Screening (Height and Weight)

All students in Grades K through 12

BMI (Body Mass Index)—Grades K thru 12

Hearing Screening 

All students in Grades K/1, 2, 3, 7 and 11

Any other identified student

Scoliosis Screening 

All students in Grade 6 and 7th

Dental Screening Exam 

All students in Grade K, 3,7th

Physical Exam 

All students in Grade K, 6th and 11th
