Fitness and Strength Training Elective

The Fitness and Strength Training Elective course will offer students a further education in fitness, health, and nutrition. On their way to perfecting their own personal fitness training program that they write for themselves and participate in, students will identify fitness goals, learn about the muscles of the body and how they work, learn about and participate in multiple, various types of exercise and methods of training, understand and effectively implement exercise prescription, recognize the benefits of regular cardiorespiratory exercise, both aerobic and anaerobic, analyze proper exercise technique, learn about and evaluate exercise and nutrition- what foods and nutrients are beneficial to the body to eat and when, and more.
